2025 Call for Presentation
Please note, IUCX Conference 2025 Call For Presentations is tentatively closed. Please reach out to our Workshops Manager, Tami Teer for inquiries!
Presentation Requirements & Guidance
We are seeking utility professionals willing to share their projects, initiatives and innovations with industry peers at IUCX Conference 2025. Guidance for submitting Your Call for Presentation and the form are located below.
Please keep in mind: Conference Workshops showcase utilities.
Our attendees want to hear utility stories. Perhaps some Workshops can be co-presented with industry partners, but ideally utilities take the starring role and partners the supporting. Sponsor Solutions, on the other hand, allow each year’s Platinum and Gold sponsors to spotlight success stories in their deployment pipeline and innovative products/services. We believe utilities are integral to telling Conference Workshop stories, while Sponsor Solutions can be presented with or without utility client(s).
-
Submit a complete abstract; partial abstracts often are not graded as well as complete ones. A complete abstract includes these elements:
• Topic
• Title
• Suggested track of the CX Puzzle. IUCX reserves the right to move abstracts to other tracks.
• Utility speaker(s) and contact information
• Descriptive abstract
• Learning objectives -
Ensure your abstract is unique and not a copy of another abstract.
-
Ensure your abstract is new and not a repeat of last year or a workshop you presented at another major conference.
-
When we receive multiple abstracts with similar or connected topics from different companies, we often consider consolidating them into one-panel session.
-
If you have problems or questions, call Tami Teer at 903-893-3214.
-
Our writer is available to listen to conversations about a potential topic and prepare the descriptive abstract and learning objectives for your review and edits.
-
-
Primary Contact will receive notifications concerning this submission. Whether this is a utility or vendor, our first contact regarding the abstract will be the Primary Contact.
-
Primary Contact information should be complete (name, position, utility, email, phone number).
-
Primary Contact can be a vendor with all presenters from a utility. Our first contact will still be the Primary Contact regarding the submittal.
-
Workshop Track
-
Some CX Puzzle tracks receive more abstracts. Review the CX Puzzle overviews and consider submitting in another track(s) if your topic fits.
-
Based on past data, our estimate of 2024-25 percentages of total abstracts that will be submitted by track are:
• 25%, Digital Engagement
• 18%, Strategies & Analytics
• 16%, Billing & Payments
• 12%, Contact Center
• 9%, Disruptors
• 8%, Field Services (and topics such as AMI and Revenue Assurance)
• 6%, Leadership Development
• 6%, Credit & Collections (and Customer Assistance) -
Historically, we have not published the above percentages and expect some reaction and changes to final percentages.
-
Customer Assistance topics may be consolidated to the Credit & Collections Track.
-
Submit your abstract once. Please do NOT create copies and submit them in other tracks (these will be consolidated).
-
Abstracts submitted to a track that do not match their Title and Summary may be changed to a track that better matches the Title and Summary.
-
-
Should be short (1-5 words) so reviewers are clear on the main idea. Example: Workplace Safety; CIS Implementation; Bill Reformat; etc.
-
Note: Topic does not have an asterisk on the form and therefore is not required.
-
-
Should be short (10 words or <), so it displays well on a smartphone.
-
If longer than 10 words and the abstract is selected, we will help you reduce the total words.
-
Avoids naming products or company/utility. There is space in the Summary to include these details.
-
-
Write a clear, 1000-character or < summary/description of your presentation.
-
One descriptive paragraph is preferred.
-
Bulletized points usually do not present well in a smartphone app and should be avoided.
-
Content will be reviewed and adjusted by our IUCX Writer for consistency and clarification purposes before being published.
-
If your presentation requires IUCX to provide special audio/visual or high-speed data connection, state this in the Summary. Note: certain requirements may present problems for the abstract to be selected.
-
-
Write two to three learning objectives, focusing on what knowledge participants will gain from the presentation.
-
Keep each learning objective to <15 words.
-
Must be less than 50 words total for all learning objectives.
-
-
Provide complete information, including contact information. Do not submit abstracts that have blank answers or TBD for presenters and contact information.
-
Contact information should be for the presenter and co-presenter so IUCX can contact these people.
-
Do not submit abstracts that state the presenter name and title but show other people’s contact details. If a presenter prefers contact through their administrative assistant, state this in the Summary and provide this information there.
-
If a presenter or co-presenter has a conditional acceptance to present, state this after the name. For example: “Jean Q. Presenter (pending mgmt. approval)”.
-
Generally, abstracts that have utility presenters are rated higher than vendor presenters. Some topics may warrant a vendor-only presentation, but the same voting and selection may occur.
-
If an abstract has a vendor as a co-presenter, state the percentages of the presentation that the utility and vendor will present in the Summary, for example: 75% utility -25% vendor. Generally, abstracts with the majority of the presentation by the utility are rated higher.
-
For more than one co-presenter, list them in your Summary with an *.
-
If your abstract is for a panel, and you have a proposed moderator, state the moderator with an * in the Summary.
